Stack Royalties’ management team has been assembled for the purpose of positioning the company for rapid growth and expansion through strategic acquisitions of proven underdeveloped oil and gas mineral rights. Our company is segmented into four key departments: Geology, Land Acquisitions, Business Development, and Legal. These divisions are all headed by individuals that have proven track records in their field and are leading the company with proven abilities and proficiency daily. Dan Lane, President
Mr. Daniel Lane, who manages our day to day operations as the President of Stack Royalties, LLC., has played key roles in several facets of the oil and gas sector for a decade. Working with multidimensional oil and gas drilling and production companies in the Dallas and Houston areas, Mr. Lane has been tremendously successful in setting up venture capital and drilling programs which are still producing today. Mr. Lane takes a “hands on” approach in all phases of each project including discovering future locations, obtaining mineral rights, and the drilling and completion of each well. Due to Mr. Lane's current and past experience in the exploration side of the energy sector, he has a very keen understanding of what areas within the stack are "best in class" acreage assets and over the last year has headed up a very thorough Geo-Science program for Stack over pressured minerals and royalties.
Luis Castillo, Head of Geo-Sciences
Mr. Castillo graduated with a BS in Geophysical engineering from Simon Bolivar University in Venezuela, then getting his Master's degree in geology from the University of Oklahoma, graduating with honors. Mr. Castillo is a cross trained Geologist/ Geophysicist with vast experience in prospect generation, oil and gas exploration reservoir characterization on E&P projects in conventional oil and gas reservoirs, as well as clastic and carbonate reservoirs. He has supported the preparation of all capital deployment correspondence and proposal with working interest owners including geological, geophysical, engineering and economic analysis.
Mr. Castillo has provided his technical expertise to independent operators in the midcontinent area, and private entities for Oil and Gas prospects and land redevelopment coupled with land asset management. He has also assisted in the deployment of capital budgets for the acquisition, development and exploitation of 170 producer wells in the Cherokee Platform, Central-Oklahoma.
Mr. Castillo also has field experience in the seismic acquisition supervising of 2D and 3D seismic acquisitions. He has been a key member in a large number of drilling projects (horizontal and vertical) and participated in numerous completion procedures.
Darin Mangum, Head Legal Council
Mr. Mangum has extensive experience in law, business and venture finance. He is the managing member of Darin H. Mangum PLLC, a boutique corporate and securities law practice -- focusing primarily upon exempt securities offerings under Regulation D, Regulation A+, and Title III of the JOBS Act (now known as Regulation Crowdfunding) -- with offices in Texas and Utah and clients across the United States, Canada, Europe, and Asia. His law practice focuses on hedge funds, asset protection, tech start-ups, real estate and corporate finance, EB-5 visa immigrant investor regional centers, private placements, mergers and acquisitions, and federal and state securities law compliance.
Rob Thwaites, VP. of Business Development & 1031 Exchanges
Rob brings his background as an analyst at Morgan Stanley and his commercial real estate investment experience together to Stack Royalties to develop institutional and corporate partnerships. His experience in finance and investment experience allows him to develop strategies specifically tailored for whatever the client's goal may be. Rob graduated with a B.S. in finance with honors from the University of Central Florida. During his time there, he had a peer-reviewed economic paper published, competed for the triathlon team, and was a member of the ATO fraternity. Currently, Rob lives in Dallas, TX with his wife Blair, and enjoys hunting, fishing, golfing, and the outdoors. He is also an active member of YPO, Dallas Safari Club, Ducks Unlimited, and other various civic organizations.
